Veritas Notary Training

Training built to a standard worth verifying

Texas notary work, taught Texas-first: every module pairs the working skill with the Texas law underneath it — Government Code chapter 406, the Texas Administrative Code, and the subject codes that govern the documents. Completions are earned against proctored exams and observed practicals, recorded in a public registry, and renewed every year.

A Veritas credential is a private professional credential issued by Veritas Notary LLC. It is not a notary commission, and it is not issued, approved, or required by the State of Texas. Notary commissions are granted solely by the Texas Secretary of State, and Texas law requires no training course to become a notary.

The standards

Published competency standards

Every module states what a holder can demonstrably do — not just what they sat through.

Proctored exams, passed at 100%

Question banks are held by the trainer. A miss is re-taught and re-tested, never waved through.

Observed practical assessments

Trainees perform the work — live or simulated — while a trainer scores against a rubric. Document labs and scenario labs, including the refusal scenarios: knowing when not to notarize is half the credential.

An ethics code with teeth

Every completion is issued under the program ethics code, and a credential can be revoked for misconduct. Revocation shows in the registry.

A verifiable registry

Every credential carries a unique ID and a public registry page. Anyone — a signing company, a title firm, a client — can check a credential’s standing in seconds.

Annual renewal

Credentials expire. Renewal takes a short continuing-education unit and a standards attestation, and the registry listing stays live. Lapse, and the listing shows it.

Training sells à la carte — by module or by tier, in any order. The one gate: no specialist endorsement is issued before the Core Track, because law, ethics, and journal discipline come first.

Where the program stands

The program is in its first phase: Veritas trains its own people to this standard now, and the first outside class will be a small invited pilot cohort. The registry is live from the first issued credential. To be considered for the pilot cohort, start atjoin.veritas-notary.com— the free lesson is the front door.
